I have a Dell 942 printer and it keeps giving me a code 1203. It just started doing this and I can't do anything with the printer now. Anybody know anything about these? I have searched the web, but to no avail. I can't get the printer to work and I need it.

That error is for a short circuit in the print head, the solution to try is to remove and reinstall the power cord, and remove and reinstall the print cartridges. If that doesn't work it's technician time.

Wouldn't a ink cartridge replacement be a good idea before sending it out for repair?

I would try unplugging and plugging it back in. If that doesn't work, you might be able to install it again in XP, or maybe try reinstalling the drivers if you got a CD with it.

Thanks for the help. After turning it on and off a few times, it started acting normal again. I had turned it on and off, unplugged it and plugged it back in but it didn't work. Finally it just started acting normal with no error code.
