Tomorrow, I fly back home.  My flight is in the early afternoon.  And of course, the food will probably be bad.

However -

At the upscale hotel *cough* I am staying at, they have a breakfast spread, including (at least this morning), Jimmy Dean sausage and egg biscuits.

Would it be unethical if several of said biscuits "accidentally" fell into my backpack?

If you have to ask, you know what the answer is.

I don't think its a big deal.  They put them for you, might as well eat them.

Like they've never had a few thousand old biddys do that. It's like having the Coke machine out for self serve at McDonalds.

Truly you aren't serious.  (Are you?)

Take as many as you want.  That will get them back for not rinsing the cups in your bathroom properly.  (You will understand if you watched the csnbc or w/e report on hotel maids washing cups)

How about taking some of those hard boiled eggs, some bread/toast, and maybe a packet of mayo?  Oh yeah, and a toothpick with an olive on it.

Based off the thread title alone, I'd say "just pay for the pressure washer".

That would be wrong and you are lesser of a person for thinking it.  Can you grap me a couple too.

Just buy some food at the airport. I don't think they'll allow food through the checkpoints.

You aren't framing your question properly.

First question how much you understand food service and regulations.

Pretty much anything that is served can't be taken back into the kitchen, it's just thrown away if not consumed.

So to make it a question of ethics you should ask, "I'm trying to make sure that no food is wasted, how much should I leave for everyone else?"

They'll let food though, but not liquids.

OK, so two egg salad sammies.  Waffles anyone? Yogurt?

I don't know for sure if that would be ethical or not (probably not, IMO), but man, that's gotta be a nice hotel. I mean, the best I've ever gotten was maybe a sub-par danish or donut.

If you do end up taking some, snap a photo and make this a breakfast pic thread.

Karma is a bitch.

I'm willing to bet that the TSA fucktards are going to abscond with your snausages and biscuits, perform a total body-cavity search of you and make your entire day a living hell.

Later on, while you are inflight, that guy that stuck his finger up your hoo-hoo is going to be enjoying your food, licking his still-gloved finger, saying:  "Man, deez is gud biskuts"

I like your moves, Daytona.

Plus, if you've ever eaten the food at a hotel/motel, how safe do you think it is.  The food service personnel at these places are probably not the people that you want cooking your breakfast.

I stay in hotels quite frequently(no flea bags, but never the Ritz), and I never eat anything that they offer for breakfast, only a 'coffee to go'.

How about just asking? Most of the time your high end places are very into second mile service and will even wrap some up for you.

Do this, ask, "Would it be alright if I got a couple of extra sausage biscuits for the flight home?"

And I can assure you they'll answer, "Of course, go right ahead!"

So, you asked, the hotel appreciates your patronage, and everything is cool.

If they fell in, yes, you should give them back.

OTOH, take all you want. You paid for that stuff. Don't believe it, check your bill.

The food and drinks sound like perks.  What's the problem with having as much as you want?

They're going to throw it away if it isnt consumed.

Grab some grape jam too

Dry little things they are.
