What is the difference between G2 and 6P Surefire LED models.  Looking to mount in LaRue mounts...

I believe they have the same outside diameter and that either one will work in the various mounts out there. The G2 has a polymer body and the 6P series has an aluminum body.

If they were the incandescent versions, people would steer you to the Nitrolon (G2) due to perceived shock resistance over the aluminum 6P. Being the newer LED versions, you're probably fine with either. I think the G2 still has a plastic lens, while the 6P has Pyrex. if that matters to you. The G2 is probably a little lighter.

I grabbed a 6P LED at Lowes and also upgraded my SF weaponlight with the SF LED module. They're worth the money, IMO. I usually buy my Sf stuff online and get it at a better price, but wanted to support Lowe's decision to carry a superior product.
