What do you guys think the MAJOR problems facing this country are? More importantly what are the solutions? Here's my .02 cents: 1. Liberals 2. Political Correctness 3. Immigration (legal and illegal) 4. The de-industrialization of America (moving all manufacturing and jobs overseas) 5. Inability to fight the war on terror properly (see #1 and #2) |
Lawyers![]() 1. Liberals They have to be in power to truly be a problem - last time I checked, they aren't in the white house and they aren't in the supreme court, so I'm not too worried. 2. Political Correctness This is only a 'problem' if you let it be - a lot of people overhype it and just use it as an excuse for something they don't like. IMHO a lot of people who use the term are attempting to distract attention from substantive debates over discrimination and unequal treatment based on race, class, and gender - in other words, you're a closet racist/sexist/etc. who calls things you don't like "PC" 3. Immigration (legal and illegal) America was founded on immigration. Legal immigration you don't like? WTF? I guess your ancestors were Navajo then huh? ![]() 4. The de-industrialization of America (moving all manufacturing and jobs overseas) Yeah, because we should pay some union slob to make toilet plungers in America. 5. Inability to fight the war on terror properly (see #1 and #2) This has existed since forever. What do expect though? Conservatives won't carpet bomb Iraq when they can use their fancy new JDAMS now will they |
Well damn, they must be doing something right in Iraq... Violence in Iraq at lowest levels since 2003 October - Violence In Iraq Is Down 70% It's not the hopeless situation Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and Ron Paul say it is. |
1) Not a problem, they are a reason we have problems. 2) A problem caused by (1) 3) A problem, and needs to be solved. My soultion is nuke Mexico. 4) A problem, and needs to be solved. My solution is nuke China. 5) A problem, and needs to be solved. My solution is nuke Iran/Iraq/Afganistan/Stans in general/Syria/Lebanon. ![]() |
Correct, I think there are good things going on in Iraq, and I fully support George W. and the war, however if there weren't any liberal "restrictions", the war would have been over 2-3 weeks after it started. |

Biggest problem facing America: Radical liberal ideology and activism spreading like a wildfire of cancer across our society, and no Conservative group or leader to unify the group is taking a strong lead to stop it. As someone already posted, government has grown too big and out of control. They work FOR us as our employees, but have insulated themselves into a ruling elite class due to our ignorance and apathy, and now try to Rule us. I don't think it can be reformed peacefully. We'll see... |

1: illegal immigrants. they ravish everything we work hard for, don't pay taxes, hit us with uninsured vehicles, destroy our health care systems...the list continues but i just get more pissed. 2: gas prices--Something needs to be done. this is a major key to our industry. look at how everything and I mean everything is affected. when you ship UPS or Fedex, there is a gas surplus charge, fly for vacation, gas surplus charge, buy anything from anywhere that is has been shipped, moved by some sort of gas powered vehicle, gas surplus charge of some sort or additional taxes. the tax on gas alone is something like .70 cents per gallon. that is ridiculous! Gas needs to be back down to $1.50 or less a gallon. a way to do this: turn the entire middle east into a glass vase exportation country and a natural U.S. oil storage facility 3: jobs in america being moved--although we enjoy the lower prices of over-seas products, we are killing ourselves. look at how well china is doing, hong kong, taiwan. the U.S. economy practically supports them with as much as we buy from there. It seems like very few things are U.S. made all because it is soo much cheaper to have them built in different countries, shipped across oceans or flown the entire way and the total cost is still less than that to make it in the U.S. and throw it on a shipping truck. 4: political correctness-- a bit of an issue, but not in my top picks. it is annoying to have to feel like you can or can't say something. For that fact, I say as I please, and if it pisses someone off, then so be it. As long as I am within my rights of the 1st amendment, I will say it loud and proud. 5: laws--it seems like for every single hiccup that could possibly happen, a new law comes along to try to remedy it, or the law is over used. take a look at the high school kids involved in shooting competitions, then they get suspended for having a box of ammo or something in the car. College students aren't allowed to carry on campus even if they have a CCW permit issued by the state? whats the deal with that? It seems like for every new little law created, a tiny piece of our freedom is being taken away. so small of pieces that we don't even realize it. At some point this will be handled, but not soon. 6: racism--give me a break any more. I think it is a load of BS to pull the racism card any more. I look at that school beating where the group of kids came after one kid and nearly killed him and yet the whole town comes out in protest about it being about racism and not justice. i just don't get it. I won't go further on this because I don't want anyone to get in trouble on here when it isn't ourselves we should be fighting. 7: full auto weapons or even "assault weapons". why shouldn't we be able to own full autos? A gun is a gun plain and simple. It must be handled with respect and care. In the end, damage can be done no matter if you have a fudd gun or a m-16. It is just another piece of our freedom taken away piece by piece. And to label a gun and "assault weapon" I find racist! A gun is a gun. I have a ruger 10/22 that has a 50 round mag and I have a few AR's that have 30 round mags. How can these be classified as assault weapons. there is enough BS in the whole shi-bang to sink and die in. I just hope I find a libtard treading in it that i can use to float on. |
| The reliance people have on industry and government to survive, nobody is self sufficient anymore. What would happen if all commercially produced food products and clean, running water magically disappeared forever? What about all electricity and gas to heat and cool homes? About 100 million people would die over the course of a month, in the US. |

America... Regardless of all our many problems... WE are the only chance this planet has... This REQUIRES sacrifice, dedication and a willingness to understand that there are greater notions of morality, loyalty, duty, honor and spirit than currently popular. Some of us may die in the fight... Many have before us. More will in the future. CPO SWCC US Navy (Retired) |
