I'm sure we all remember learning about Daniel Craig when he was cast as James Bond 007, his inability to drive a manual transmission and his disdain for guns, but I learned something new about the libtard-asshat. On HBO there is a 'behind the scenes' for the film 'Golden Compass' and it seems that Daniel Craig has read all the books in the series and really loves the storyline. So, what does this mean in the big scope? Nothing, much. But every time we spend money to see a Daniel Craig film it puts money into the pocket of a anti-gun, anti-God actor. |
|
he's anti-gun and anti-god. And i'm supposed to care? ![]() If you don't want actors spouting off their opinions like they matter (Charlie Sheen, Sean Penn, Barbara Streisand, and the entire F.A.G. roster), you probably shouldn't put much weight into what actor's opinions are. They are ACTORS, their job is to convincingly portray other people. Doesn't matter if Daniel Craig likes guns, because as James Bond he has to convincingly use them. Otherwise, he's entitled to his own opinion in real life. |
|
I think most actors don't really beleive the stuff they claim to beleive in, just more acting. Basically their saying the right things so they have a good career. See how many people here that are pro-gun don't get so concerned about it. The anti-gun crowd is different. Don't say what they want and acting ability, movie sales don't matter all that much. They will try to destroy your career. Not just get mad at the person, they get vindictive. |

Mr Daniale wanna be Bond is a Queer!!! Also the 3 book series ends with the kids killing God in the end. The plan of this writer is to destroy Christianity by getting kids to think its cool to kill God and be able to do what ever they want with no reprcusions. WTF is wrong with our country, we are getting shot at and missing Christmas for the rights of a bunch of Anti gun Queers and god haters.....God help us all. RLTW! FREE |
If the book could 'destroy Christianity' then that is pretty sad for Christianity. And you should probably read if if you really want to talk about the plot. |
You're born you take sh*t. Get out in the world, take more sh*t. Climb a little higher take less sh*t. 'til one day you're up in the rarified atmosphere and you've forgotten what sh*t even looks like. Welcome to the Layer Cake son. Then Morty kicks your ass in a dinner to the tune of "Ordinary World" by Duran Duran. |

Please enlighten us on how this isnt a anti-God series of books. I have not read them I was just informed from people at my church. So they dont kill god in the end of the 3rd book? Its not going to destroy us, but why should we even give it a chance? You want to mess with my god, you gotta go thru me first. FREE

He didn't request it as I recall. More suggested. ![]() He was decent in the last movie. I enjoyed it a lot. Except for "that one scene" ... Of course the line he utters at the end of it is priceless... No matter how good people say the storyline in the Golden Compass is, I am not going to give that anti-Christian pap a cent. |
No dude that was Aidid's supplier for his milita! |
You're what's wrong with the Christians. Read the parts in red. You haven't read it, so you're commenting out of ignorance or solely the opinion of others. You have no context to think this book IS anti-christian, because you haven't found out FOR YOURSELF. Then, you claim you shouldn't give it a chance. That's precisely why reactionary Christians often look stupid, because you judge before knowing. Christians have opposed books and films which, taken as a whole, were very pro-Christian but because someone found one tiny thing, or took one slice of the work out of context screamed that it should be boycotted or avoided. I don't know if this movie is anti-God, but I know not to smear or defend it based on my own ignorance. That's a lesson you're free to learn from. |
Ditto I'd love to read the books and see the movie. But doing so would be giving money to someone completely opposed to me. Saying I disagree with you then giving you money so you can continue to work against my interests doesn't make sense. I'll take the word of trusted sources like FOX news who have quoted the Author as saying and I'm paraphrasing "I wrote the books to influence kids into an Atheistic world view." I'm not going to financial support this person. |
|
I remember when Chronicles of Narnia came out there was much rejoicing in the christian community over how good it would be for christianity because it will lead kids to a relationship with Christ. Now they are saying that this will lead them away from God and it should be boycotted/banned etc. My take on the whole thing is you should be teaching your children critical thinking skills and exposing them to both the "word of God" and that of people who dont believe in him. Sheltering children causes them to ask more questions later in life and at that point without the critical thinking skills you should have instilled in them there may be a crisis of faith. Living in a cave is no way to experience what life has to offer, nor is taking someone elses word for everything. BTW I am an athiest and I dont think that movies like Chronicles of Narnia are bad in any way. You as a person need to be free to choose your path in life after considering the options. Christianity is an option but does that mean we should not look at others? If there is a God and he instilled me with this curiosity then I think he is partly to blame for me using it. p.s. I like guns too. |
It's not about telling kids it's cool to do whatever they want without repercussions (which atheism itself is also often falsely accused of promoting). It is about a false god who asserts authority over everything in a fake magical world with witches, armored bears, and other non-real things. In the end they do kill this 'Authority' figure. How that translates into destroying Christianity I have no idea. |
"My books are about killing God." -- direct quote from the author in a 2003 interview. ![]() (He also stated in a 2001 interview that he was "trying to undermine the basis of Christian belief.") FTR, I have not seen the movie and don't know how true to his book or his intent it stayed.
|
They are about killing the god in the story, yes. A false god who demands everyone submit to his rule. From your point of view, call him Allah if you like. |
So was he -- those two quotes (the 2nd one got left out when you quoted me above -- you probably hit quote before I added it) were from before the movie was made, he was being interviewed about the books. I haven't read them, I'm just going on what THE GUY WHO WROTE THEM said they were about and intended to do... ![]() Like I said, if you disagree take it up with HIM. |
Well, to clarify, his intent is probably for people to read the book and then question religion. The book itself is not an attack on a specific religion like Christianity per se. |
Again...
|
Okay we're not communicating. There's what he wants and there's what's actually in the book. If you read the book without any prior knowledge you would not see any attack on Christianity itself. It's not like a Dawkins book that says "Okay here's why Christianity is BS" or something like that. |
You are probably the ONLY person on this board who knows what he is talking about in regards to the book. I've read all three and yes, they kill a "Falsified God", infact the character they kill isn't even a god at all but like you said an Authoritative figure that assumes power as a tyrant (think of Xerxes in 300, who proclaimed he was a "GOD king"). People automatically assume because there is a "GOD" involved its automatically their god thats being killed. It ignorant at best and it makes you look like a fucking moron. |
Every time my ex-girlfriend wanted to get me pissed off, she'd start in with how the next Bond was going to be gay. "Daniel Craig...you know it, Daniel Craig is going to be a GAY BOND!" She sure knew how to push my buttons.
|
Umm. He wrote the book SPECIFICALLY because he wants to undermine Christianity in the minds of children. You can post more silliness trying to conjure other meanings, but he TOLD US exactly what message he wanted the books to convey. Take him at his word; Occam's razor and all that. |
I'm sorry I remind you of your ex-girlfriend.......
