So much faster. Instantly hooked into the internet while XP still can't find the internet on the same computer.

Dual boot. Lots of free software: Office like stuff.

Yeah!

I guess there are some programs that won't work like games. But there is a $50 program that is supposed to make XP work inside Linux in a protected mode so that viruses and other bad stuff won't get in.

Anyone else have experience with Linux?

Apparently only 2% of the population is capable of "using" Linux.

Mythbuntu is almost working for me... Seems to be a problem getting sound through the HDMI port to the TV though. Time to tinker again so I can watch my recorded episodes of South Park(with sound this time! Cartman really isn't the silent movie type)!

I am using Linux (Fedora) for a year now for everything except Quicken and Quickbooks, and I love it.  The only thing that was a real bitch to get running was wifi, but once I conquered that it works like a charm.

This is my first time to mess with anything *nix since the early 90s, so I had a lot of learning to do.  If you are new like me to the platform, I highly recommend you follow the Beginner and Intermediate tutorials at http://www.linux.org/lessons/ (sorry not hot), they will help you with all the command line stuff you need to know.
