Ralph Peters has been running a series of columns this week, the New York Post has them on their website. A charity that is helping gravely wounded service members transition to new lives and cope with traumatic injuries such as severe burns, brain injuries and amputation is in need of our help. I sure hope this is not a violation of any rule, but I thought I would take a moment to pass along the information in case anyone was looking to lend a helping hand during this season of giving. I can think of few greater causes. Returning Heroes Home I have availed myself of the donation option of having inscribed bricks made that will be utilized in building their new facility, several of which I am giving as gifts this Christmas. Somehow I think the people receiving them will appreciate it more than a necktie or a DVD or some other meaningless gift. Knowing that a place is being built to show gratitude for the sacrifices others have made for us, and that they will somehow be a small part of that refuge of comfort and hope... I hope they enjoy receiving that gift as much as I enjoyed giving it. Monday's column isn't up, but here is today's: Ralph Peters - December 11, 2007 Staff and GD mods if this violated any rule, I'm sorry... ummm look over there! Oh just thought I saw something... nothing going on here... |
