I have a Dell AIO 922 printer.  It's worked well since I got it and was working fine yesterday.
Today I tried to print off a paper and there's nothing on the paper when it comes out.  It stopped printing both black and color.  The cartridges are new so no problem with them being empty.
The printer goes through the motions of printing, it just doesn't put ink onto the page.  What's wrong and how can I fix it?
Thank you.

Try cleaning the print heads.  Sometimes the clog up and won't allow ink to flow.

Does this happen in black and color?

What do you use?

It happened in both.

Thanks

There should be a clean print head option in your printer settings.  will look at printer online to see how.

From the user manual:

2 Click Start→Programs or All Programs→Dell Printers→Dell Photo AIO Printer
922→Dell Printer Solution Center.
3 Click the Maintenance tab.
4 Click Clean to fix horizontal streaks.
5 Click Print.
When the page prints it forces ink through the clogged nozzles to clean them.
6 Print your document again to verify the improved print quality.
7 If you are not satisfied with the print quality, wipe the ink cartridge nozzles, and then
print your document again.

Yeah, I tried that before but when I click "Print" the darn thing just sits there and doesn't print.  It prints everything else (with no ink), just not when I click "Print".

Thanks for the help.

The only other thing I can suggest is to pull your ink cartridges and reseat them.

Other than that, I'm stumped.

Have you tried turning the printer on and off.  Also try reseating the printer cable as well as rebooting the computer.

Tried all of that.  Nothing.

Wouldn't you know, my printer dies just before the longest and most important paper of my college career.

After some (2 hours worth) messing around with it I noticed the little display screen on the printer said the black cartridge was "incorrect" (whatever that means). So, I removed it and made it so the black ink would come from the color cartridge. Voila!

It now prints black again. It's a temporary fix, but it works for now. I think something happened with the black cartridge so that the printer doesn't recognize it anymore.

Thanks for the help.

Does the black ink cartridge have a "chip" or electrical contacts on it?
If so try cleaning both the ink cart. and the contacts in the printer.
They do this to make sure you buy there brand of ink.
