I know this is in the wrong forum, but the Ruger forum has cobwebs on it.

If I have a Ruger P95DC 9mm pistol with the decocker, and I carry it with a round in the chamber, is the firing pin able to hit the primer in the case of a drop?

I have a good source that said no, but I want to double check, since I will make this CCW till after the first till I can afford a new pistol.

Thanks!

I used to have one of those.  Never dropped it tho.

From what I understand it passed California's "drop test" so it should be okay.  Unless you can't purchase decocker models there.

safe to do it like 99% of the modern pistols out there have a firing pin block of some sort

Nope...It has a firing pin block.  I own one...and have fired several thousand rounds through it....utterly reliable..and as tough as an anvil.

Too bad they LOOK like anvils too. Decent pistols, though.
