In what country are their products made in? I am thinking about buying one of their jackets, but I will not spend money on chinese or vietnamese goods. Thanks |
I agree. Overrated and overpriced. I bought one Under Armor shirt and didn't like it. Ended up buying a bunch of the Walmart knock offs, and those worked great at 1/3 the cost. Wear them every day to work, literally under my armor, and they've held up fine for a couple years. |
I just did their big sales meeting in Baltimore at the convention center. They are pompous asses. The CEO crowed on stage that they have the highest retail price in the market for certain apparel items. A lot of their garments are just butt ugly. They have an extremely ghetto shoe line coming out in May. Look for the Superbowl ad's. In general, a lot of hype, a lot of marketing and no data to back up any technical claims. They even have a "tactical" line. I will admit that the teenage models looked cute in their underwear but that is all. Colonel Hurtz |
+1 I wont say the shit isn't nice, but the price is crazy for something made in honduras for $00.10 I saw a catalog today that had under garments for hunting, $140 for the top and bottom. ![]() You could wear 5 pairs of Haines long johns and still have enough left to actually go hunting.

Check out the 5.11 alternatives...also look for sales, LEO discounts, etc... Kids Under Armour is really outrageous!! Very high quality though, I wash my kids soccer/football stuff in harsh chemicals to get stains and smells out, and it lasts, and lasts(my wife and I have a understanding, I do the sporting equipment;) I can't save anything bad about except for the $$ JMHO... |
What countries are 5.11 made in? |
Try the polartec socks from Cabelas. I've had good luck with those keeping my feet dry and warm. ~$14.95 IIRC. |

Sapper, if your wanting under armour to wear in theatre, DON'T!! One of my friends was wearing Under Armour when his bradley was hit with an IED. It melted to him, and helped make him a KIA. Wear cotton underwear, dont do the under armour. Don't wear Under Armour in Combat |
+1 on the not fire retardant or resistant. eta....civilian use then the underwear and shirts would be G2G. I bought quite a few pairs of the boxer briefs while over there as a fuel convoy driver and use all of them still today here at home. I wear their sports socks daily and like them a lot. |
I have a couple pairs of boxer briefs I have had for at least 6 years. They still look brand new, except the tag is so faded you can't read it anymore. Some of the most bulletproof clothing I have ever seen. |
Silk or wool won't melt either. |
Yeah I got the word about incidents like that from the chain of command a while ago, thanks for the heads up and sorry about your friend |
