I've been with Sprint for a long time now.  Almost 5 years.  I was with Cingular prior to that but switched to Sprint when I lived in an apartment complex in which Cingular provided no service for.

Currently I live in the Atlanta, GA area, but with my job, (Airline Pilot) I move around the country on a daily basis.

I'm tired of having to pack around my laptop, and i'm tired of these hotels blocking half the sites I try to visit... including ar15.com.

Sprint doesn't offer a huge selection of Smart/PDA cellphones.  Should I switch to AT&T to get a better phone selection?  How is their service compared to Sprint?  I won't be purchasing the iPhone because it's junk.  I'll wait for the second generation being a Mac fan and all.  I would most likely go with a BlackBerry with built in WiFi.

Your suggestions?

They all suck.

Just pick one.

Their service varies by location.  In some areas one company will be strong and one weak but they are reversed in another.  Find the location you really need to make calls from and go with the strongest in that area.

The only thing worse than Verizon is all the other carriers.

I hate Sprint/Nextel with a passion. 5+ hours on hold only to be jerked around from department to department while trying to switch a new phone bought from them to my old account. Screw them.

Verizon has been nothing but good to me for 4 months now.

You will have really good service with AT&T because Atlanta is where Mobility used to be headquartered at. (Now that they merged they moved it technically to San Antonio, but a large majority is still in Atlanta.

AT&T has some really great phones. I would go with a TREO 700 or 750 with windows

mobile. I think that what the model was anyway(newest). I just did a project where I

switched over about 500 PDA/phones to a new mail domain. I also updated softwate

over the air. The download was about 2.5MB. The TREO on AT&T was screaming fast.

I could completely finish one in about 3-5 minutes. The others took 20-30 minutes

except the TREOs running PALM software. Thet took about 10 minutes. The blackberrys

were diffrent. It just had to go through enterprise activation. Not sure how much of a

download that is. But it took a ling time when the mailbox migrated over if they had

any amount of mail. I played with the browser on the 8700 and it was slow. Kinda like

fast dialup compared to a decent broadband with the TREOs. I dont know if the 8700

has built in wifi or not. My 7520 doesnt. If it speeds up browsing it might be worth it.

You couldnt give me a pearl with free service. Well maybe if it was free. Its like the

anti Blackberry. I also had a fewer mewer Blackberrys that had a ball type navigation

instead of the jog wheel. They were faster but not a whole lot.

I am really impressed with Verizon.  Both in customer service, the coverage area and the quality of the signals.

I have had Alltel for about 4 years, and they're light years better than Sprint, my previous provider.

This sums up my opinion well!

Verizon for years, works everywhere. They just keep jacking up the price every 2 years.

ALL cellphone service sucks!!
IMO, AT&T is the most expensive, but you get coverage in the most areas, however, it may not be the best service or near the fastest anytime. The Iphone's are cool, but the one's I have used are very slow in comparison to my Verizon.
Verizon has done very good by me. I switched from Nextel (Sprint last year after 8yrs) and haven't looked back. I have the new MotoQ 9m, great phone, windows based, easy to use, can be used ass amodem for a laptop with no extra fee and fast as DSL.
Good luck
