How good is a 117?

Anything above a 110 is good.

130 is max IIRC.

They offered me all kinds of jobs, I chose 11B.

I fell asleep a few times and only got a 125. Then had to go back a couple times to get 11B. The first time through after saying I wanted 11x, they only offered me 19D which I promptly turned down, left and came back later.

This was in the early 90's when divisions were being deactivated and posts were closing though.

I got 100 on my score. at the time, the recruiter told me that was a "pick anything you want" score.

That being said, all he told me about was Infantry... HA!

i got a 122. good enough for anything.

i recently scored a 129 on my AFAST. hopefully that's good enough to get me into flight school.

Just curious, why would you want 11x? I would not have signed if they didn't give me 11B specifically. With 11x, you could easily end up getting indirect fire support. No thanks.

The max is well above 140, I had a buddy in MOS school with a GT of 151, he beat me by one point.

I had DI's in boot that didnt believe it went above 130, but it does.

Generally anything over 110 will allow you to pick any MOS you want.
