My oldest and most favorite tree that I planted when I was a kid a Colorado Blue Spruce. It has moved twice but the last move was 10 years ago. The tree is about 20' tall and is around 15-17 years old. I just noticed that the top of the tree looks dead. The needles are now brown and this years growth is hanging down like a dead flower. What is wrong with my tree? What can I do to save it? In order to prun in I would need to get my dads ladder and walk on a very small ledge right next to a pile full of rock fill. If it would help I can take a picture of the tree. I love my tree and I want to save it, please help me. BTW - The tree is located in Puyallup Wa, 7 miles or so east of Tacoma. The weather has been very nice for the last month and we are not short on water. |

A Copper and Manzate mixture work as fungicides. Manzate goes by many other names too: Mancozeb, Maneb, Mancos, etc. Lots of tomato farmers use the two chemicals on their fields. Usually applied every 3 to 4 days. I forget the exact mixtures of each but google will come up with answers. |
Yes I know it is a preventive but I cant get anything to kill the fungus so I will protect what is still good on the tree. What else should I use to get to the top of the tree? Its at least 20' tall and the ground isnt level where it sits. I wont hire an Arborist, I leave on tues and I wont be back till late next year and it looks like my parents will be selling their house next year. I will be calling some nursuries to see what they can say about this since I know that I have a commen diesese for Blue Spruces. |
