Hunting with Dynamite

The Statute of Limitations has run out and now the story can be told.

Many years ago a friend and I were hunting in the wilds of Nevada. During the day we roamed around in search of Jackrabbits and in the evening we called in coyotes and fox. Driving up one side canyon we saw that the side of one hill was covered with ground squirrels. As we looked around for a place to park, we came across an abandoned mining camp with a shaft going into the side of the mountain, a lean-to and a garbage pile of old cans and bottles. There was a dry wash near the lean-to and my Buddy, Red Martin, noticed a box covered with a tarp laying in the wash. He started to remove the tarp and I cautioned him that the box might be full of Rattle Snakes. Perhaps we should put a few rounds from my .45 into the box. Might damage whatever is inside, Red responded. So, finding a long stick, we removed the tarp and found.....

A fifty pound box of Blasting Gelatinite with Nitro leaking out of the sticks. Both of us were in the military and had handled explosives extensively. We knew that we couldn't haul this load back to the base Demo Range safely and we sure couldn't leave it there for some kids to find and hurt themselves.

Besides, why should someone else have all the fun?

We picked a few sticks and carefully placed them inside one of the ground squirrel holes. When Mr. G Squirrel poked his head out, Red fired a .243 round and touched off the charge.

For sticks were good so 10 sticks must be gooder

Thirteen sticks seem to be goodest

Your post made me smile.

I want to use tannerite to make a 'hog claymore'

Here's my idea... fill a roll of barbwire with about a quart of tannerite.  Place it in a known hog feeding area and surround it with corn.

Place it on its side with the end of the tannerite container exposed.

Wait the for hogs, and BOOM!

Sadly, the State of Texas won't allow it.

meh.

OMG, LOL, this is the best idea I've heard around here in a long while.
