Why do you call it crap if you never tried it.

I eat it. It's OK but nothing like the same homemade dish.

Cousin Eddie: I don't know why they call this stuff hamburger helper. It does just fine by itself, huh? I like it better than tuna helper myself, don't you, Clark?
Clark: You're the gourmet around here, Eddie.

I've got some in my cupboard. I like it, my son likes it, and it's easy to make. I usually serve it along with some canned veggie like green beans or corn.

Double the hamburger and don't overcook the pasta!  It will make 3 or 4 meals for us cooking for one guys.

King Supers or Kroger some times has it on sale  10 for $10.

PO FOOD!

Yeah it even tastes good with spam.
10/28/2007 5:58:10 PM EDT
[#20]
we eat it at my house

Course when you are fixing meals for as many mouths as we have it is nice to be able to throw one together every once in a while

Your Heart Dr. will not eat it. !!!

[#25]
Growing up my mother would not buy it.  I didn't eat it until I was out of high school.  It's not bad.  It's cheap and easy.

Well that's a no-brainer, since EVERYTHING tastes good with Spam!

I like the Hamburger Helper Lasagne.
10/28/2007 6:13:41 PM EDT
[#28]
Had it for dinner tonight!! Yum!
10/28/2007 6:15:46 PM EDT
[#29]
Love it...all of it. What's not to like? Most are either cheese and pasta of some sort, or cheese and potato, and of course, with ground beef. It wouldn't be my last meal if I was facing the electric chair, but c'mon!
10/28/2007 6:17:19 PM EDT
[#30]
My wife and kid prefer venison burger in it to beef burger.

Me, I prefer not to eat the stuff unless there is nothing else I can make real quick.
10/28/2007 6:19:13 PM EDT
[#31]
It's not kosher, that's for damn sure.  But, don't use water.  Substitute in old beer and add some chopped onions and bell peppers.  Serve with tortillas.

Fuck I'm hungry.
10/28/2007 6:19:16 PM EDT
[#32]
I like it. Haven't had it in quite some time.
10/28/2007 6:21:30 PM EDT
[#33]
i have before. not the biggest fan but sometimes is nice to have a little meat in you mac n cheese.
10/28/2007 6:25:32 PM EDT
[#34]
When I was broke and in school I ate it, well the generic stuff anyway. I could not afford the real stuff, most of the time with no meat. I don't eat it now though
10/28/2007 6:27:42 PM EDT
[#35]
Hells yeah.

Raised by a single mother here.

The only ones that are good are the cheeseburger maccaroni and the cheesy hashbrowns.

It's just dehydrated noodles or potaties with fake cheese and you add your own beef. They are both fantastic with some black pepper and a bunch of tabasco.

Mmm.
10/28/2007 6:29:33 PM EDT
[#36]
I tried it once.

Gave me the squirts really bad.

Never again.

Oh yeah.  We've made Bambi helper.

Hamburger helper is, like many things, an awesome niche-filler. If I got a pound of ground meat on hand and nothing to fix it with or nothing in mind, it's pretty damn fast (and good).

my family grew up on that it crap....i ate it at least once aweek.

can't stand it. whenever my sis-in-law makes it, i go to mcdonald's. yuckk

Hamburger Helper Beef Stroganoff is the shit!

Mix in some real sour cream and it's even better.

Of course, I can cook, so I don't eat the stuff often, but in a pinch, it's pretty tasty.

Plus McDonald's is one of the most anti-gun companies in this country. I'd starve before i would go there.

And Hamburger Helper isn't too bad, depending on what kind.

Hamburger Helper, and assorted flavors, is fucking awesome.

Easy to make and makes great leftovers.

Lasagne is the best.
Use 1.5lbs ultra low fat Ground Turkey, add a small box of fresh sliced mushrooms, dried red peppers and season to taste.  Serve over Couscous with some fresh steamed veggies on the side.  Destroy any created goodness with a few chilled Dixie beers.  Pretty good meal.

Hamburger Helper = bachelor food.

Me = bachelor

Me + hamburger helper = mmmm

I like to spice up the hamburger while I'm cooking it... give it a little more flavor.  The cheesburger mac is my favorite.
