What legal recourse does a person have if an insurance claim is denied? I had a hot water pipe burst under my floor and went unnoticed for several weeks. I didn't notice anything until the water bill and electric bill were abnormally high. That's about the same time that I found a mushy spot on the floor. I had to cut a hole in the floor to fix the spraying leak and it had steamed the floor to the point of buckling a very large area. The adjuster representative told my wife that it sounded like a long term leak and might not be covered. WTF? I fixed it at the first sign of trouble. What else could I have done to expedite the repair? Man, I hate dealing with those people. I have been with State Farm for over 30 years and they want to balk at a $3800 claim. |
| They do not cover pin hole leaks /slow leaks. Ive been plagued with pin hole leaks in copper pipe every december. They will always tell me NO. Im very good at drywall now though. they were very good this past winder when my solar panels froze and cracked, they quickly sent out 6k which included my deductible. |
