So I'm expecting a shipment from FedEx today. It's a case of ammo from the CMP. I got home just before two and checked the tracking data. Great on vehicle for delivery. So I left the page up and refreshed it every once in a while. Well I refreshed it at 5:22pm and it updated to add: Delivery exception Customer not available or business closed. Well this is a bunch of BS. I know they didn't come, I didn't hear the doorbell or my dog didn't go nutz. So I called and they said that they would try to get him to 'swing back by'. What I think happed was the guy didn't want to finish his deliveries and marked some packages with 'Delivery exception'. Any delivery drives out there that can vouch for that kind of thing happening? Just ticks me off because I have to be here to sign for it. I may be here tomorrow, or I may not. |
Tip the drivers? I have never heard of tipping the package delivery guys. |
what you got to be shitting me! You guys never do this? in 16 years of doing business i have never had a failed delevery (they will double back just to make sure my stuff arives!)! But I tip my drivers (ups, fedex, usps), and they take care of me! |
This exact thing has happened to me more than once, both with FedEx and UPS. I'll start tipping people for doing their fucking jobs when people start tipping me for doing mine. |
| Fuck tipping delivery drivers. Plus, they're always different in my neck of the woods. I've seen like 12 different ones. Sometimes UPS/Fed Ex just drops shit off at my apartment office, without even knocking. Pisses me off, but what can you do? Raising a stink would not be worth my time. |

Fuck tipping everybody to do their damn job. If you can't do the job 100% for the paycheck you agreed don't let the door hit you on the ass. I don't tip delivery drivers I don't tip the bar when I get a take out order I don't tip the barber I don't tip the cop that wrote my ticket I don't tip the burger flipper. I DO tip the waitress because she works for tips. This tipping shit has gotten out of hand in this country. FUCK THAT SHIT!!!! |
Behold, a wise man speakith..... |

CNN Money holiday tipping article FedEx Company policy does not permit cash tips, but a gift worth up to $25 is okay. ETA: made the link hot |
Shitty service??? You might want to read the service contract that all shippers agree to. Package delivery is a SERVICE, just like waiting tables, you will get back as much as you are willing to provide. Ever tip the Hostess at a restaurant you frequent often? We go to a local restaurant every Friday night. The first time we gave our name and when we finally were seated, I gave the Hostess a 5 spot and my wife gave me a WTF look. The third time there, the wife goes up to give them our name and the Hostess said our table was ready. Little things, they go a long way in the service industry. Every once in a while, out of the blue, I'll have pizza delivered to our Police / Fire Dept.(small town, they work out of the same little building) sometimes to the day shift, sometimes the night shift. Like I said little things, they can get you a lot in return. |

Happened to me twice before. One time a member here helped me track down the driver and got him to come back. Another time I had to drive an hour away from here to their hub to pick up a fucking flash hider. Fucking lazy bastards. My parents give their UPS driver goodies such as food and stuff. But he's also not a fucking slacker and works hard for his money. Yes it is a "service" but it is also their "job" to deliver packages accordingly. |
