What is the largest amount of tannerite detonated that you have been witness to? I have done a gallon jug. That was a good boom, .223 set it off just fine. Is there a limit to how much will detonate reliably? I have access to any caliber up to and including .50 bmg. does caliber matter? videos welcome 1.5 Litre Tannerite |

I stuck 2 containers, each weighing 1/2 pound inside of an oven, that was inside of an old 35 foot mobile home that was scheduled for scrapping, burning the rest, then burying on my friends property. We locked the oven door, used a glow stick to see where to shoot, shot through the door and it blew the oven to bits, wrapped aluminum siding around trees and blew the whole back of the trailer out. Also in the video (on 8mm and I don't know how to convert it) you can see the frame of the trailer buckle! Burners from the stove got stuck in the roof, all the windows blew out. I also shot 1.5lbs on 4th of July in an open area about 15 feet from my metal shed. The concussion ended up putting a 6 inch deep by 30 inch long dent in the shed. |
that last wasn't tanneritte, 100 tonnes of the stuff. you couldn't be far enough away and still detonate it, could you? |
pretty sure it is all right, that is all tannerite is |
No, it isn't. You're doing basically the same exact thing when you buy and mix tannerite. Tannerite doesn't come pre-mixed because it's illegal to transport binary explosive w/o the proper license. However, it is perfectly legal for an individual to mix and use binary explosive, w/o a license. eta: As usual, you individual State law may prohibit this and IANAL. HOWEVER, I live in a very rural area, and I could not find ANYONE within 300 miles who carries Ammonium Nitrate. The feds started a big push to get it taken off the shelves after the OK City and '94 WTC bombing. If you can find it on the store shelves at .14/lb, buy a shitload while you can. eta: And get some for me too, while you're at it. |

This was a video that I took, but someone else posted on YouTube (probably an ARFCOMmer.) It was a gallon jug full of Tannerite. www.youtube.com/watch?v=kfomWn1BLRI |
don't think so, tannerite isn't supposed to be flammable, very stable. requires extremely velocity to go off. i don't think firecrakes have the detonation rate to set it off. i could be very wrong though |
