I recently ordered an XCR and had it sent to my FFL. I saw online when it was delivered so I took a quick lunch to pick up my rifle. Well the dealer seemed a little agitated and asked for me to wait for a call next time (also commented that I should buy from them). Well I thought maybe he's just having a bad day so I agreed waited for about 20mins for him to do the transfer. Now I have another pistol ordered around the same time as the xcr and it was delivered yesterday 10/19/07 at 12:30. I have not received any call to go and pick it up. I'm leaving out of town tonight and would like to have it before I leave. Also like to point out that I pay a hefty fee for the transfer $35 plus tax.....am I exaggerating here or do need to be more patient? |
Fuck him, you're paying him to do a service, that means you can go there and pick up the rifle/pistol when you want. If he wants to get shitty about it find someone else who would appreciate your business. |
I pay $20 per transfer, and that $20 does not cover any shitty attitude from the person I'm giving my money to. |
| Thanks for the quick responses I will start looking for another FFL. I going to try and take a lunch and take my chances I getting my pistol. I'm wondering....can he just say "I don't feel like doing the transfer and send my pistol back?" (or anything of that nature) just in case he gets pissed off about it. |
| My last transfer, I walked in, asked if they'd seen it, found it in the pile of incoming packages, logged it in the book, did the paperwork (including walking in the back to copy my DL and CCW), they didn't charge me anything because I'd done all the work :-) Of course, I used to work right around the corner from the shop and still help out behind the counter if they're busy when I'm in there, and I've gone hunting with the owner on occasion... |
