| I'm in the market for a new CO dector. What do you guys recommned? Also where is the best place to put it? I thought I could put on the wall across from the furnace. |

Nighthawk has had solid products for years. Get one that plugs into the wall as you want them to move air across the sensor. As for where to put it: CO is nearly neutrally boyant so it won't accumulate near the floors or the ceiling. IMHO next to the furnace is too close. Mine is in the hallway next to the bedrooms. Can't help you on brand since I'm not at home. As far as where to install it, ours came with instructions on the best place to put it. IIRC the manufacturer wanted it at least 12' from any ignition-source appliances (like your furnace) to limit the likelihood of false alarms. We have ours installed for the wood and pellet stoves, and they've never registered anything except 0. |
