If you click a Grill ignitor near a CRT tv, you will notice interference!

Why does it do this?

Static electrical discharge. It generates RFI (Radio Frequency Interference) just like lightning does.

You will also get electrical interference if you click it on your tongue.

Seconds before my cell phone rings, my TV makes a loud buzzing sound. It sure helps to keep me from jumping. My ring tone is the opening cords to AC/DC Back In Black.

I used to work a lot with BlackBerries and noticed this after getting numerous complaints about users' BBs causing their speakers to make weird noises.

I told them that it was a side-effect of the wireless transmitter being located nearby an amplifier, but nooooooo, that wasn't good enough!  Something was wrong with the BlackBerry and it had to be fixed!

After all, a 70+ year old Assistant Secretary of Defense is never wrong, so it must be the stupid college intern's fault

We have all sorts of gremlins like this. There is a radio tower less than 100 yards from the house. I'm sure that has something to do with it.
