| I would have thought this was required viewing for Arfcomm. What say the hive? |

If I never watch that movie again I would be cool with it. I was stationed at an alert facility and we got that movie thru the Navy on 8mm tape. Every fucking time some pilot switched out missions all you hear over the intercom "Now playing in the Anny theatre Samurai" For a fucking month that was the only movie anyone played. /stab F that movie |

Tom is a tool, and seems to do his best to ruin movies and Hot womenz (though thankfully the latter for the most part escape before he really buggers them up) I own the movie though, enjoy it, it is not historically accurate (and eys I was one of those bitching the same thing about 300 |
If given a choice between The Twilight Samurai and The Hidden Blade, pick Twilight Samurai. It's the same movie, only better. |
|
Tom Cruise s undoubtedly a fruitcake, but I like most of his movies and I think he is usually a really good actor. I can seperate my personal opinions about how artists are in real life from my appreciation of their work. You have to if you have any genuine appreciation for a wide variety of music or any other kinds of artistic expressions...because...let's face it...a lot of artists are at least a little bit batshit crazy. |
"He" as in the Samurai in general - a privileged class that lived off the toils of the peasants. You would think a Hollywood so enamored with Communism wouldn't also be so enamored with the Samurai. Oh well - it makes sense as long as you remember, US culture = Bad, everything else, = good. |
Chuck Norris would have been great in that part... Really, I liked the movie. But Cruise had no part in making it worth seeing. |
|
I liked Koyuki who played Taka. Many of the Japanese actors are A-list in Japan. I feel the movie was okay. |
That's a good summary right there. I didn't like the movie. It seemed too much like Dances with Wolves in Japan. Plus, killing them all off in the end was lame. Two thumbs down. |
big +1 |
