I'm going on leave this Thursday, and need to find some places to shoot. Also, Do I need a FOID card to get ammo, or will my Mil ID work. I'm not from Il, but my wife is, but her FOID expired.

Sorry, but you'll BOTH need a valid FOID, to even HANDLE a firearm, let alone purchase ammo.
This is one of the reasons I escaped from the Daley Democrat Republic.

So, that means that I can't even bring my OWN guns?? Luckly, my wife has a friend who works for the sherrif's dept.
