Do I need to break out the Starship Troopers kit to take care of these critters?
Some info: This is a particularly big one. The body is a good inch long by say, about a 1/2 inch across. Long legs, and really long antennae. These seem to hang out in a dark corner of my basement, and out in the garage. They seem to be rather solitary, I have rarely seen more than one at a time. They do not scatter when the light comes on, nor do they seem particularly afraid of me or my dog. I haven't seen one jump. Judging by their legs, that's probably a good thing. I also haven't heard them make any noise.
So, what say the arfcom GD Bug Experts? Any ideas on how to get rid of them?

Cricket. Good for fishing. Annoying, but not a problem.

Cricket? Really? Huh. All the crickets I've ever seen are black, smaller, and chirp like a drunk SOB. But, if it is just a cricket, I'll stop worrying about it.

Those things crawl up any undefended drain.

The GF calls them spider crickets. Ironically, that is their actual name.

I recommend one of these if it gets too much for you...
