My PC has 2 hard drives and I need to reliably transfer files. The master is damn near full and the slave, which has twicw the capacity is virtually empty. How can I transfer the stuff and still have everything work properly?

copy and paste, then delete the old version.

Its safer than cut/paste.

I assume that you will only be transfering, mp3s, pics, video and .docs?

Dont move any system files or program files....obviously, right...obviously.

Also, download CCleaner and clean up your shit. And go into add/remove programs and remove any programs that you dont use anymore.

And once you are finished moving all your shit, dont forget to defrag.

oh yea, only move stuff a few folders at a time, it makes it easier to backtrack if it errors out.

I prefer to open both drives and then drag the file across though it is not any better or worse than Gaspains suggestion.

edit: you can move documents. As suggested I would not move any program exe. files or files associated with them.

its not this easy if you move certain directories you can really screw up your system.

i highly suggest taking your system somewhere and have them replace the smaller driver with a bigger drive.  make an exact copy of the drive to the bigger drive.
