Are those spider webs or are they made by some kind of worm?

We get those (on a much smaller scale, usually like basketball size) around my house.

People here thought they were bagworms, but the article says spiders, and that they have experts there.  Seems to me if they were bagworms, that would have made it into the article, but then again, it is the Startelegram,

those are the larva of some moth.

Showed the webs on the local news last night.  Definately spiders.

Many different kinds.  Samples sent of to a bunch of different places to verify all the different species found.
