Started WWII Airborne, but have had no time with school.  And, frankly, been out of shape for a while now (mostly related to school) and I couldn't bring myself to put on a uniform even if it is reenacting right now.  When I lose some more weight and get back into shape, I may look for infantry (WWII) around my area.  There are too many Airborne reenactors right now.

Not this year.  I know G company.  I am with the TMHS 101st unit.

You realize don't you that you guys are just one step sideways from the guys who wear Spock ears right?

We actually have a guy in our unit that used to be in the Trekie thing.  He said the politics and many of the arguments are all the same.

I don't consider myself a "reenactor", but when I show any of my Miltary Vehicles, I usually dress in a period uniform and gear.

I think one of the many unique things about reenacting is the folks with vehicles that restore them back to original condition.  I absolutely enjoy seeing all the hard to find weapons, uniforms and vehicles.
One day I hope to add a jeep to my immpression.

Please DON'T put SCA and historical reenactment in the same sentence. The SCA is to history what dancing is to architecture.

Hey, I didn't steal a De Lorean with a flux capacitor and join forces with Teddy Roosevelt to fight Hitler's son Jorge when he invaded Mars just to remain ignorant about how many freaking wars we'll fight on/over the moon.

Also, this Friday at 1:50 pm, take two steps to the left and be ready to duck. Just sayin'.

We have one female in uniform, who is one of our musicians. Not really "in the ranks" per se.

Yes. Many times, I'm sure.

Ah, OK, the folks I was thinking about do have a musket toting WIR.  Did I shoot at you at Crown Point earlier this month?

I do WW2.  I'm not attached to a unit and I've only done the so-called 'living history'.  So, I do whatever time period that fancies me as long as its WW2 U.S. Army (no airborne either).  I am interested in the 34th ID, though.  Wish I could find a group around my area.

I had enough acting as a Marine for 14 years until I was too broken to play anymore and got out.

Are most reenactors former military types? I enjoy the whole vehicle thing and totally get dressing up but the whole drilling in the rain thing is a bit odd to me.

There is a group in Tooele that rebuilds tanks I'd love to hook up with them and volunteer to be a shop sweeper or something just to help out.

Thunder21: Where's your meatcan pouch,soldier?

Badshovelhead: Almost all of the guys in my CW company are veterans. I'm one of the few that is not. It's not that we think drilling in the rain is fun, but events only last a day or so, and are planned far in advance. We can either huddle in our dogtents and whine, or get out and do some drilling for the few spectators who were willing to pay to watch us. We didn't melt. Most of us thought it was better than the usual 90+ degrees under a blazing sun in a wool uniform
I have a few WW2 vehicles, and it is really cool to get involved in a large-scale reenactment with them. Last summer, I had the unique experience of idling in my Weapons Carrier, with a load of infantrymen in back, as an armored column of at least 5 tanks, and 8 halftracks roared past me on the dusty road, as P47 Thunderbolts roared over at low level . This year, My '44 Willys jeep and I were involved in filming a movie as groundcrewmen on a B17. An original vehicle makes the reenacting  experience so much better.

Here's the CW me:
