I am as well... started in 86 and did Civil War for a while. Now involved in WW1 living history. Alng the way I ended up with a career in museum education and running a blacksmith shop. 318th Infantry, 80th Division AEF |
| Started WWII Airborne, but have had no time with school. And, frankly, been out of shape for a while now (mostly related to school) and I couldn't bring myself to put on a uniform even if it is reenacting right now. When I lose some more weight and get back into shape, I may look for infantry (WWII) around my area. There are too many Airborne reenactors right now. |
We actually have a guy in our unit that used to be in the Trekie thing. He said the politics and many of the arguments are all the same.
|
I think one of the many unique things about reenacting is the folks with vehicles that restore them back to original condition. I absolutely enjoy seeing all the hard to find weapons, uniforms and vehicles. One day I hope to add a jeep to my immpression. |

Please DON'T put SCA and historical reenactment in the same sentence. The SCA is to history what dancing is to architecture. |
I've watched some of those three gun cowboy shoots. We have a pretty good little 1880's town at our local range. Pretty damn cool! |
Mr Manzana? Had any Floating Corn in Paris? Mostly 18th Century, F&I and Rev for me. Dabble in Civil War. Did the Vietnam thing for a couple years. I grew up during the Bicentennial, spent summer vacation at Friendship Indiana. My earliest memories are from rendevous and events |

British Redcoat, 1777. HM 40th Regt. of Foot, Light Company ![]() Yours truly, second from right. Making the world safe for legal government and civil order. No fat guys here.... Flushing out the rebels..... ![]() Look at them Yankees run! |
PSYWAR 1-0 is truly the badassest (is that a word?) native reenactor around. VERY convincing....
|
Was thinking you were another Tukahoe, sorry for the confusion. |
2nd VA- GREAT group. You should give them a try. |
Hey, I didn't steal a De Lorean with a flux capacitor and join forces with Teddy Roosevelt to fight Hitler's son Jorge when he invaded Mars just to remain ignorant about how many freaking wars we'll fight on/over the moon. Also, this Friday at 1:50 pm, take two steps to the left and be ready to duck. Just sayin'. |
I swear we don't dress like that anymore!
|
tell me you didn't actually shove a feather through your nose |
Yep, Double septum piercing, |

I had enough acting as a Marine for 14 years until I was too broken to play anymore and got out. Are most reenactors former military types? I enjoy the whole vehicle thing and totally get dressing up but the whole drilling in the rain thing is a bit odd to me. There is a group in Tooele that rebuilds tanks I'd love to hook up with them and volunteer to be a shop sweeper or something just to help out. |

Ekie: Tons of photos of "Thunder over Michigan 2006" on the Yankee airforce site: http://www.yankeeairmuseum.org-look in the phot gallery section. There is even a great one of my Weapons Carrier that I had not seen until tonight. I'd post it, but it really doesn't belong to me. |
