from Cabelas.  3watt, 2 brightness levels.  As bright as my xenon lights.  Says longer bulb and batt life.  Should work great for hunting, general use. i have a few high output lights now.  A surefire aviator, an E2D, a Cabelas 4 cell xenon light that is brutally bright and this new LED light.  The Cabelas lights look the same as the Surefires, feels the same except the anodizing is different.  Anyone else like the LED lights?

I have quite a few. I had to give one to my 3 year old so she can have a light in her room that wont eat up batteries when she leaves it on.

I've dumped all my incandescent flashlights (except for a couple of rechargeable lanterns) in favor of LEDs. They have so many great things going for them - dimmable down to just a few lumens (with resulting battery life measured in days or weeks, rather than minutes), no expensive, hard-to-find bulbs to replace (or burn out at the worst possible time), smaller size and weight, regulated brightness (typically until just before the batteries die completely), whiter light, faster turn-on, usable with rechargeable batteries without any modifications or loss of brightness, and considerably more light and/or run-time for the same size and number of batteries.

The only disadvantage is that they are addictive - The inevitable satisfaction with your first one always leads to buying more of them! Also, since LED technology is constantly improving, I am always tempted to trade up to the latest, greatest version.

Not always but most often, places like Cabelas have protected models so they may know you bought light from them in that manner.  At any rate, I would take the light back in and just say:  "I'm hear to exchange my light as this one does not work."

You'll get a new light.

Exchange is much easier than refund.
