This should be a fun topic. I'm (hopefully) taking a friend out to the range tomorrow, and she's never been to a range before, let alone fired, or even held a gun before for that matter. (Yes she's hot ) Well obviously I'm going to give her the safety lecture, and I have already bought some more ammo, and more magazines for the occasion, and I've got extra eye, and ear protection (I even used the occasion as an excuse (as if I needed one ) to buy a new pistol, a CZ-82), and I'm all set to play instructor. Now I'm onto fun little details like what to burn onto the CD I'll be taking, it's her first time, and the range is a long drive so I want her to have fun, leave with as positive an impression as possible, and if I'm lucky I'd like to grow the relationship past shooting instructor. That, and it's been awhile since the last music thread, and I'm light on posts lately, so I'm using this as an excuse to start a new thread . So what are your "range music" suggestions? (Hint: She initially wasn't interesting in going when I asked her if she wanted to go, but then changed her mind later saying it might be fun, and that she wanted to "blow off some steam".)

Good news. You can't go wrong with some classic rock. |
+1 Led Zeppelin the Doors Pink Floyd that should get you started |
Reading is fundamental, this is for the long ass car ride out to the range. Theres not a whole lot of ranges in this area, to get to a good one you have to drive WAY out to the sticks. |
| Concur with Wave. If you must have music, use only light music and spend the time in the car to go over the rules (and get to know her better). In giving firearms instruction, I spend the paper work time to learn about my student's communication ability, attentiveness, ability to follow instructions. This allows me to be a more effective instructor (and to stay safe). So, talk to her while in the car and not about dating interrogation (what school did you go to, are you seeing someone type garbage). |
He didn't ask how not to get laid! j/k This is good advice. If she is interested in learning about firearms, these are topics that must be discussed over some Celine Dion playing in the background. |
+1 WTF is "range music?" Aren't you going to be wearing plugs or muffs anyway? You don't have to have range music to have a good time. |

Guys read what I wrote THIS IS FOR THE DRIVE TO THE RANGE, NOT FOR THE RANGE IT'S SELF It's a very long boring drive, and I'm looking for mood music. I am not taking a boom box to the range, boom STICKS yes but no box. As I said in the original post, the safety, and fundamentals will obviously be discussed at length, I'm just looking for something to play while in the CAR. This is meant as a fun music thread. UPDATE while I'm at it: She had to postpone the range trip today (I did go by myself though), so now it will be Labor Day Weekend. Now I have a full 2 weeks to throw this together, so come on lets hear your suggestions! |
Doesn't ANYBODY read all the way through? This is for the DRIVE to the range to kind of set the mood, NOT for the actual shooting. Reading comprehension is key here. Again for the hard of hearing THIS IS FOR THE DRIVE TO THE RANGE NOT THE SHOOTING. It's a long drive. This was meant to be a fun thread, but everyone keeps coming in, and shitting on it, because they were to lazy to actually READ what I posted. |
Don't bring common sense into this....this about getting PUMPED UP BRO for the RANGE BRO YEAH HELL YEAH WHOOOOO BRO....seriously if it's her first time take the New Yawk JBT's advice (joking there) |

I was thinking Classic Rock, maybe some Metal, Country possibly, hell I'll even take Classical ANYTHING but rap (Or modern R&B, it's the same damn thing now practically, just as degenerate anyway.).
