My brother, SevenMaryThree, underwent a 5.5 hour surgery this morning to remove a cancerous tumor in his soft palate. He was diagnosed with adenoid cystic carcinoma a couple of weeks ago. The surgery generally went well and they removed all of the cancer with clean margins all around. The prognosis is good at this time. He and his wife are handling this obstacle very well. My mother, however is not. Today she came back from the brink of total meltdown. It took me three hours to talk her down from the world's biggest panic attack. My mother is ruled by emotion and does NOT handle crisis well at all. I ask that anyone willing remeber my family in their prayers, especially my brother and my mom. Thank you. |

Prayers sent for your brother and the family. Sometimes it's harder on the family members than the person -- believe me, I know ! ! Here's a little hope: 10 years ago my Wifey was diagnosed with the dreded "c" word. Had her 10 year check-up just this week. Doc says "Good to go -- see you next year". MUCH to be thankful for EVERY DAY ! ! And the Good Lord DOES answer prayer . . . . |
She's doing much better now. I told her to ask my brother's doctor for some valium or something. (My mother lives in St. Louis and is currently in SE Michigan) |
