Coincidentally, I was just looking into the possibility of buying a humidity gauge. I found a couple that I thought might be promising, but I don't have any experience with them so I don't know whether or not they are good quality: www.weatherconnection.com/product.asp?itmky=529964 www.calright.com/pd_738.aspx Consider this a tag. |

Try these They are made for Cigars that cost thousands, I know mine do. www.cheaphumidors.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=hygrometers |

This unit is bad ass. Unit is $25 (comes with one wireless sensor) and extra wireless sensors are $13 each (max of 3 sensors can be used). You could have one sensor in the safe, one outside, and one in the house. The display automatically cycles and shows a reading from all three sensors. Keep the display at your desk and always know what the interior condition of your safe is. The only question is will it transmit through a safe. They make a wireless sensor with a wired probe that would probably work better for the safe. Just stick the probe in the wire hole that most safes already have, and set the wireless sensor on top of the safe. www.weatherconnection.com/product.asp?itmky=224987 |
| Not sure you really need to put the hygrometer in the safe. It's not like a safe is hermetically sealed -- heck, they're not even water tight so the humidity in the safe is likely to be very close to that in the room itself. I have a goldenrod in the safe and a dehumidifier that I run in the room during the summer which keeps the humidity down to around 30%. The thermometer/hygrometer sits ontop of the safe for monitoring purposes... |
