Wow, what a month!...and then some!

My computer decided to crash, HARD, due to a worm or virus that I picked up that Norton flat out MISSED.  And I updated it every day!   (Note to self...Norton sucks.  Avoid it.)

So I take it to an expert.   Because I've got a lot of data I want to try to get RECOVERED.    160 GB drive, about 80 percent full....

This is going to take some time.

But...I've got business trips to take, too.  And a vacation week, as well.

So the first week without a PC passes and it's not fixed.

Second week....I'm in Nashville on business.   I had a good time and got the job done.
Had some internet access via a work laptop, that's about it.

Third week...I'm home for ONE day and then it's off to vacation in the Florida keys.
This was a great week,  but no computer was involved.

I get home for a one day turn-around (Computer not ready yet) and the very next
day,  I take off for another business trip,  a full week in GUYANA, SOUTH AMERICA.
This was fun and interesting.    It's a nice place to visit.   They speak ENGLISH down there.

Speak Spanish down there and nobody can understand you.

Everybody drives crazy down there...and they drive British style, on the left side of
the road in right hand drive cars.

Toyota OWNS Guyana.   Over 80 percent of vehicles are Toyotas.  Buy Toyota stock!

Toyotas made for the Japanese home market are TINY.   I really had to stoop to get into the taxis.  (Some model whose name I can't remember but you don't see them in America.)

Guyana would be best described as mud covered in trees.

It was a pretty awesome trip, for the most part.  Guyanese food is mostly starches (rice,
beans, noodles, etc) and quality meat seems to be a bit uncommon.  But bones and'
fat are pretty easy to get.

Try the Brazilian restaurants, instead.  They will feed you VERY WELL.

Guyanese dollars trade at an exchange rate of 200 per US dollar, or thereabouts.

Then I went home.  PC still not fixed.

Almost two weeks later,  I'm writing this on a brand new Toshiba laptop, with wi-fi,
and most of all the latest new toys and goodies.   It's sweet, and it's also powerful
enough that it's not slow even though it's got Vista in it.    Not bad.

And the desktop PC STILL isn't back yet!

But I am...and it's good to be back.    Particularly after going out of the country
for a week,  you really appreciate how really good it is to be in America.

No,  zombies are STILL dead.   So I guess my PC technically IS one,  if it's still moving, that is...
