Has anyone used or own an LED version of the G2?  How does the light compare to a standard 3P or G2? My wife needs a light to use at work in a Veterinary practice.  You cannot use it to check pupils, but they often need to flood the area with light, no shadows or dark spots, when removing sutures or staples for example.  I think 80 lumens and 12 hours of runtime would be perfect.

Thanks

Sounds like a good plan to me.

I haven't added the LED head to my G2, but I did get an E1L, and it's a great light. I think it ends up costing just a little less that way, too.

IIRC, the LED head for the G2 runs like $65, plus the G2 itself ($36), puts you a little ovr $100 (at list pices). The E1L was $96 at a local shop, has an aluminum body, and a pocket clip (and can easily have a lanyard attached).

I have two and they're fantastic.
I used one while night fishing and you wouldn't believe the difference in power and duration with the new Cree LED.

I will probably buy a few more G2s just to upgrade them.

$50 plus S&H from Bright Flashlights.  Order one yesterday.  I have never talk to anyone who knows that much about light.

I will keep everyone posted on this application.
