I went shooting today and almost took out a guy w/ my flying shells. What's the best way to stop my brass from flying 2 shooting positions over? I almost need some type of temporary barrier.

Brass catcher

my AR 5.56, the shells are flying about 10-15ft directly to my right.

Any other options beside a brass catcher?

Get a brass deflector

I have to use one too, dont remember where I got it from.

Or hang a nut sack on the side of it.

Try to take the farthest lane to the right, cheaper than a brass catcher and you don't have to worry, granted you might get sprayed with hot brass.

ok

I don't/won't mess with my AR(s) extraction unless it was failing

Brass catcher is probably best option.

Some folks in the AR tech forums might be able to offer some advice.

Yes several but they will cost you an arm and a leg and they're not very practical.  Why not just use a brass catcher?  Easy to install/remove, relatively cheap to buy.

You could always pay a kid $5 to chase after 'em with a butterfly net.

Clip a couple coils off of your ejector spring.  Doesn't cost a thing and dumps your brass right next to you.  That's what many highpower shooters to in order to a) make it easier to collect the brass after shooting a string, and b) avoid pelting the guy next to them.

You're serious!  If you go that route use a fish net, smaller holes.

I'm thinking some type of barrier that can be clipped to the side of the shooting bench so when the shells hit the next they just fall. Nothing too tall but 12-18" high should do it. And it will make cleanup easy.
