[ARCHIVED THREAD] - ARFcom Survival Network (Page 1 of 2)

It has become quite clear that in order for us to stand a chance at surviving a Zombie outbreak and rebuilding society (oh how perfect it could be) that we here at ARFcom must band together and fight the good fight. Therefore: I, Gordo23, hereby move to form the ARFcom Survival Network (ASN). I need someone to second my motion. I now yield the floor to my fellow members of this outstanding community. I am also buying a team membership to demonstrate my loyalty to the community and the ASN. |

You do know we have a survival forum, right? ar15.com/forums/forum.html?b=1&f=123 |
Sure do...but we had a zombie thread going in GD and since this related to that topic I posted in GD. |
http://ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=1&f=123&t=492598 whole reason for this and some of the threads that go down inthe HT's as already stated. |
Thanks. |
I am in the process of putting a "think-tank" together to figure out issues such as these. This network will be simplistic in nature, yet complex at the core (follow?). The only way, IMHO, for us to stand a chance of survival is to band together and organize ourselves in a useful manner. If any of you have thoughts/concerns (no matter how childish or outlandish they may seem) send me an IM with the subject "ASN". Hope everyone is well! |
Ham radio. We (survival forum, anyway) already have weekly radio nets set up to practice for just such a contingency. Currently are: audio/text/video capable. This side of the Mississippi is pretty well covered; not so good on the West coast. No, I'm not kidding. |
One if by land Two if by sea A beta-mag dump if zombies there be |
There are a lot of great minds here (street smarts and scholarly); I believe if we put our heads together we will soon see the sky is the limit. This began as a thought of fun and games...but if you really examine the topic at hand you might realize (as I have) that this could be the difference between survival or death & capture. I swear I'm not paranoid.

Sorry guys, but in the event of a giant meteor striking the planet and mutating Kudzu into a meat eating life form happens, the LAST people I'm going to contact are members of GD. Most would be sitting in a catatonic state in front of a blank computer screen when the power failed anyway. |
|
Who's going to bring the wimminz? A ratio of 10:1 is required to save the future of the human race according to one doctor I know. "I hasten to add that since each man will be required to do prodigious... service along these lines, the women will have to be selected for their sexual characteristics which will have to be of a highly stimulating nature." |
You stole my college motto!!!
|
I put this in GD because of another related topic (at the time)...link this thread to others and them to this thread if you wish. The more of us...the less of them. |
Rest assured that the feeling is more than mutual. Between the Nike-looking and the gun-grabbing, just imagine how those poor prepared folks in New Orleans would have ended up if some of the LEOs weren't there. |
Very cool...this motto was borrowed from another "scholarly" society that I belong to. Many great movements and institions of thought have used this phrase. |
What? NO ARFCOM? Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo (huff, huff, huff)oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo(huff, puff, I think I am going to pass out!) |
which begs the question... |
the question being... It isn't a trademarked phrase (if it was, the people of italy would be pissed). Also, as a member of another group who has this phrase on our crest (we were aware of a couple of colleges and universities that wanted to use it [way back in the day before my father was even born]). It isn't a trademark nor a copyright violation. |

" and in other news, three more anti goverment camps were destroyed by the N.Am.Def.Com. Bringing the total this week to 12. Unidentified sources say that the last of these strong-holds should be eliminated by the end of the month." You can run but you can't hide...from 2k pound JDAMS ![]() Just jokeing |
I was being a smart ass, fellow Mississippian a play on "great movements and institutions of thought" insinuating that perhaps a group formed from arfcom GD might not meet the criteria. Sorry
|
haha sorry...I haven't slept in about 32 hours. |
I've been considering this. I have been reading information trying to educate myself on Ham Radio. Sounds like it would be handy in case of an emergency. |
|
I can see it now.... "those with Vulcan AR-15s will be banished" "those with Colts will proclaim their superiority and attempt to take over" "the mods will tape the mouths of anyone not in compliance with the new COC laws of the land." "President Avila will rule over 'The Pit' (AKA Thunderdome) ruling that it constitutes the new 'Court of Law" "tinfoil hats will be the uniform of the day" "any equipment trades that are backed out on will result in banishment" "the ARFCOM leadership will keep a post count of all public statements for citizens to measure each other's worth to society and qualifications on various subjects" |
Agreed. Hence forth, I shall be known as sleezey E, also the same name I am trying to bring out a rap album under. |
|
You really need to get to know peeps face to face. You have no idea who anyone is here.... even meeting them face to face is no assurance.. I would reccomend family/ people you have served with ect. I agree that a common mutual aid freq or something like that would be usefull but as far as sharing capabilities and plans... no way |

You ain't the only one. That's going to my carolinashootersforum.com account, with credits.
