I'd like to stay within a reasonable price range, be good for outdoors under the soffit of a house. Does anyone have any experience with these things? Thanks for any help. |

I have a model made by Axis, I think it's the 2100, which is no longer in production. It's not designed for exterior use, but I'm sure they have models that are. Cost varies, but I got mine on Ebay (new in box) for about $150. Most of their cameras run Linux internally, so they're very reliable. The resolution is pretty good as is the sensitivity and dynamic range. I have it set up so I can remotely view from work etc. |

That's pretty much what I want. I have enough lighting outdoors I believe for night viewing if necessary. Not sure if color will be needed? I'd like a wide-angle or maybe one that I can move. I just want to be able to see what's going on while I'm at work and/or on vacation. I'd like to stay under the $400 tops mark. Thanks for the reply. |
