Was cleaning some very dirty Ar's today and broke out the brake cleaner, which is something i rarely use. Like a retard i hosed off the guns in the backyard.

Fast forward to tonight. My 6yo comes inside "Dad, what happened to the yard?" Huh? Go look outside and i have about 6 nice new brown spots in my $3,000 professionally landscaped back yard.  Ooops! wife is going to be pissed! Maybe i can blaim it on the dog? Or go to walmart and get some green krylon....

Safest thing to do is to blame the dog or maybe blame it on a stray cat that was just passing through.

Pics?

You could add to whatever damage is already done with more brake clean.  Tell the wife that they're like crop circles.  Aliens and all.

Nah, my neighbors are cool. When a coyote ate their cat they asked me to kill it if it shows up again. Somehow i dont think the city would aprove of blasting a yote with the AR though.

Another thing to keep in mind is don't use brake cleaner over an asphalt surface!  It will liquify the tar and turn it brown.  Watching your asphalt melt and run down the driveway will make a grown man cry.

So what do you do? Catch the run off in a trash can or something?

Garage with cement floor with a drain. Hose down when done.

At this point maybe you should just do the whole yard so she couldn't spots where you cleaned the rifle

The brake cleaner evaporates quick.  I would think you can catch it in something and just let it evaporate on its own.  Since it eats tar I would stay away from catching it in anything made out of soft platic as it will probably eat away at that too.
