I have lived in my apartment for almost two years and today I get an email from my landlord saying city code inspectors will be by tomorrow after 1pm for "code inspections". I've never had this done before but it sounds like BS to me. While i'm not worried (the only thing I have that is "illeagal" is a deadbolt that is against firecode, which the previous tenant had installed, which I will remove before tomorrow), it did get me thinking: how does this pertain to the 4th ammendment? I mean sure they aren't searching for anything but if there was a kilo of blow and a list on the table that said "phone #'s of the best hookers" you could bet your ass the cops would be called .
