Some of my friends and I have been throwing around the idea of setting up a trip there one night. Is it worth it?(btw we are all 17-19 years old but we are pretty lighted hearted and can find humor/entertainment in alot of things). Is the entertainment there more oriented for younger kids or can people my age still have a good time? I heard the food was only so-so but they put on a pretty good show. Have any of you ever gone to one of the Medieval Times? The one we are talking about is the one in Schaumburg, IL. |

My wife and I took our kids to the one in Schaumburg (sp?) and it was a blast. Before the show started we walked around and there are magicians and stuff performing. It was a real class act. All the people that work there were really into character which made it really nice. We toured the torture chamber and stuff. This was probably 12 years ago so I'm not sure how it is now, but when we went it was great. I say go for it. |
53 bucks a person. It's not cheap but you get a 2 1/2 hour show and a 4 course meal plus u can walk around before hand(and after I think) and they have some stuff you can look at or something..idk much about that. |
Can someone give me details on what the show actually entails? Is it a storyline or do they just do a tournament type thing and just fight for the whole show? Is there signing and dancing or anything vegas'y like that ?I talked to my old manager about it years ago and he said its kinda cheesy but if you don't worry about 'looking cool around your friends' and just go with and cheer for your Knight it its a blast. Do you get assigned a Knight to cheer for or something? |

I went to the Midevil Times in Vegas in 2000 and it was great. I think I paid like $35.00 a piece for my girlfriend and I and we had a huge meal and a great show. It is worth it in my opinion, but I'm into that kind of stuff. Just remember while there are no forks at Midevil Times there are Pepsi products. |
When we went there was a pretty weak story line, most of it was 'tournament' fighting. IIRC after the show they had a dance out in the main room for everyone to participate in. Not an era authentic dance, just modern music with everyone hanging out having a few drinks. You are assigned a knight based on where you sit. I don't remember if we picked which area to sit or if it was assigned. It was pretty neat my daughter (around 5 yrs old at the time) got a rose from our knight during the show. They interact with the crowd a little. I enjoyed it. |
They didn't have forks, but they had Pepsi? |

It's pretty cookie cutter storyline... there's a jousting tournament. the Evil black knight crashes it. fights ensue. someone wins. Each section gets a knight to cheer on. I think the knight choses a "princess" young girl to have favor from... foods ok and you eat with your hands... no silver ware. It's definitely geared toward the younger folks. It might be better if you're slightly drunk... but not too drunk. |
They do serve beer and ale! (At high prices)I didn't mention that due to the OP's age. |
haha thats where we got the idea. We were all watching that movie and someone said "It'd be cool if they really had a place like that.." Me: "they do.. theres one down by Chicago." |
Pretty close to my opinion. then again I got in free as a chaperone. I hear the story line has been improved to a litle more believable. When I was there, the kingdom was in danger, so the King had a last man standing competition to determine who the champion would be. Yep that made sense, you're in trouble so kill off all but one of your fighters and injure him badly in the process to defend your stuff. I like the Wild Bill show better, but it had the magic rope girl. |
"Listen dude, I gotta lot of tables...." |
?
