If you have Windows, yes.  Someone will come along and give you instructions.  I don't remember off the top of my head.  User profiles in Control panel I think.

Right click on the desktop -----> Left click "properties" -----> Click on the "screensaver" tab at the top ----->  Select a screensaver and put a checkmark in the "password protected" box.

The standard Windows screen savers can do that, if they are installed on the machine.

Go to control panel > user accounts.  Assign a password to your account.

Then control panel > Appearance and themes > Display.  Click on the screen saver tab.  There's a button for password protection

Once the screensaver actives there is about a 15 second grace period where you don't have to enter a password.  Alternatively you can ctl+alt+del and press lock screen to immediately lock the computer.

These actions will keep somebody from "accidently" getting in to your computer, but rest assured with physical access there is nothing that can keep somebody from getting on your computer.

For fun, go to Run and type gpedit.msc, just make sure you know what you're turning on or off.  I turned off a lot for my work computer so no one can change my settings or mess with stuff on the shared account.

Screensaver is a tab under the display controls, not an applet itself.

Screen saver options are a tab within the display properties.

Oh, as an alternative to clicking ctrl-alt-del and clicking lock desktop, you can just hit WinKey-L to immediately lock it.
