Salt, lots of salt.

And buy a quart bottle of Miller High Life from the black bootlegger who keep his stash hidden in the woodpile.............steal the peanuts from one farmer and two watermelons from another...........head into woods, boil with big salt and eat.

Oh, quart of Miller is plenty to get all four of you drunk !!

Oh yeah.

They're best if eaten while still warm.

Throw a couple of pounds of peanuts into your next crawfish boil.

Boil them in salt water, add some red pepper if you want them spicy.  Eat them hot out of the pot.

Real good eatin'.

Never even heard of 'em till I went down to Ft. Stewart for some training.  SSgt. picked some up off the side of the road from a guy with fly's buzzing all over him.  Needless to say, I wasn't too impressed...

Can't get enough. Usually boil my own.

First, you have to start with 100 day green peanuts. Boil'in peanuts are pulled earlier than regular peanuts. Most of the local grocery stores sell boil'in peanuts. Put about 1/2-3/4 cup of salt per gallon of water. Boil for 2-3 hours then let them sit until cool. This draws the water up in the shells. Then reheat and enjoy. You can bag them up and freeze them for later in the season too.

You cannot use late season green or dried peanuts. The small spanish peanuts where you get 4 nuts to the shell are the best imho. The jumbo mexican peanuts aren't too good.

Delicious. But I hate how, when I eat them, all the water gives me prune fingers.
