Whos to say by mixing the cat breeds it dosn't revert back to the original Saber Tooth cat size,the Father of big cats? I think there is enough DNA from wooly Mamouths to clone one from a modern day Elephant!

Seen him live in Miami. He makes a regular Bengal Tiger look like a house cat in comparrison.

Beautiful animal.

Yes.

FWIW, these offspring Ligers are always sterile. To get more Ligers you have to breek more male lions with female tigers.

Also, I beleive I read they are unusually docile, which is good considering how much damamge one could do if it was pissed.

I have also heard that there is a 'Tigon', which is the same animal except that it is bred the opposite way (male tiger and female lion) could be wrong, I found it on Wikipedia.

Depends on a couple of factors:

Wild Polarbear or fat & lazy zoobear? If it's a wild bear then it'd win. There are no wild ligers - they are all coddled as kittens and grow up weak.

Things would be different if you could inseminate a wild tiger with lion juice. Then you'd have a wild wrecking machine that eats elephants.

I think the Liger was in existence long before Napoleon Dynamite came out.

there's a Renaissance Faire in MASS that has the Big cat show every year. They have a large ranch, and the tigers and lions roam free together. It just happened. I'm not sure you can even force it to happen.

But put some big pussies together, and you never know....
