What is the difference between these 3 Samsung TV's? They all are 1080p, but there is abour $800 difference between them. HL-S5087W HL-T5089S HL-T5076S |
Based on my preliminary google research , they all look to be quite the same - they're all DLP, all of them have a contrast ration of 10000:1, 1080p, etc.HOWEVER, when it's like that, it usually comes down to picture quality and other small nuances(i.e. how many inputs, weight, style, etc.). Also, I noticed the release dates - the 1600 dollar t.v. (the HL-S5087W) came out nearly a year ago. The other two (the ones with MSRP's of over $2000) came out this year. DLP is good, but if you're going for the big 50 inch t.v., I personally would go plasma. Well, you don't HAVE to, but DLP t.v.'s are rear projection - so they're BIG (as in, not a flat panel). Plasma on the other hand is flat panel (i.e. you can hang it on your wall). DLP is cheaper because of this, and if you're putting the t.v. in a place where you have lots of floor space, then go for DLP. CNET is excellent at reviewing t.v.'s and their reviews are usually detailed. Here's their top DLP t.v.'s: reviews.cnet.com/4323-6531_7-6509126.html?tag=txt |
