I am perpairing for a possible future deployment and i was wondering if my Ruger P345 is gonna be too much for her to use for home defence.  Due to the caliber weight and all.  What do you guys think what would you recommend?  Money is an issue here.  She is small like 110 pounds, this concerns me.

You need to take her out and let her shoot it.  If she is comfortable with it its not a problem.  If it does not fit her hands and she cant shoot it good, I say trade it in.  You should have enough money to buy yourself another one when you get back.  I've been in your shoes, be safe, and thank you.

doesn't matter WHAT her size is.   it depends on her training and how familiar she is with the pistol.

trade it for a 38 revolver, simple, light,  and its gonna go bang

I've not shot the gun myself either, but maybe a trip to the range?  Does she shoot at all?  That gun is pretty light, and I bet recoil could be problem.

i know that this is alittle off topic but she is very accurate with my bushmaster.  but she is afraid of the hand gun.  she thinks its gonna kick out of her hand when she shoots it.

Big difference between shooting a 223Rem/5.56NATO over that of of lightweight handgun.  I would diffinitely take to her to the range and find out.

Here is one reviewer of this gun:

When I received the new P345, I was surprised at the compact size and light weight of the weapon. It is about the same size and bulk of a Commander-sized 1911, and at 29.4 ounces with an empty magazine, the Ruger weighs a bit less than a new Smith & Wesson Scandium lightweight 1911 that I had handy for comparison.

I have not shot a S&W scandium 1911, but I have a S&W 5 shot J-frame scandium/aluminum 342  38spl & L-frame 296 44spl guns, and with factory 38/44spl ammo, it is pretty much a hand full for me to shoot.
