I know that my local Red Cross offers cpr/first aid courses, which I am goign to be taking soon, but i am unable to find any first responder courses or the like around here. Do any of you know where I can find out about these types of more advanced courses? Thanks.

check with a local fire department, many of them either hold classes or know where to send their guys. If you've got a decent sized hospital in the area, they'd be a good call too.

Yup, that's where I did my First responder, EMT, and CNA stuff. Then I was stupid and let all of my licenses lapse...

The Army. That is where I got my EMT. I let mine lapse too
