I sent a bad CF card from Viking Interworks in California. They called today to say that the card was not there and it was extracted from the envelope. Anyway I am out the cost of the card and they will not replace it even though I sent the data which proves it is corrupt.

Is this the post office or the company not wanting to replace it?

By the way, it was under warrenty.

What would I spend $20 on a card that costs $15 new? I am just wondering if the post office or the company that doesn't want to pay for a new one so I know if to buy from them or not.

??  Someone jacked it.  You cant put any fault on the company for what someone else did. Might talk to your local post master, but if it wasnt insured, your basically SOL.

Or the company trashed it and say that they didn't receive it.

Or, from the Company perspective, you sent them a torn envelope hoping to get a free CF card.

Most likely, the Post Office sorting equipment pushed the card out of the envelope, and in their 'lost and found" thay have it sitting there.  In a few months, it'll be part of a lot that's auctioned off, and someone will be disappointed that it's bad, and chuck it.

Do not send hard items in envelopes.

The USPS facilities have a "Loose In The Mail" unit with a nickname like LOXIE or similar.
