I'm trying to find the song played in the beginning of We Were Soldiers, right after the French are massacred and the intro credits begin to roll. It's some kind of a drum/march cadence with tappity-taps and what not.

No luck finding it on iTunes either.

Sounds like "Minstrel Boy" from the Blackhawk Down soundtrack.

I'm pretty sure that Prelude is the song, but the theme you're looking for doesn't occur until later in the song and the preview doesn't go that far into it.

I'm not looking for the bagpipe song with the dude sort of chanting in the background. That song is called Sgt. MacKenzie, and I already have that one.

Watching it now.  The drummy-thing is part of the soundtrack, probably written for the movie.  Checking the credits........

I don't think it is to be honest. The Prelude listed on iTunes is 55 seconds long, and the preview is for 30 seconds. That's over half the song being heard, and no tappity taps.

Then it's part of the score, and that's all you are going to get.
