I'm running Reason 3.0 with my primary MIDI controller being a Novation Remote LE series. I'm having trouble coming up with a way to put what I want into practice. I want to control a rapid muting/unmuting effect using a button on the Novation. Programming a button for a mute command isn't the tough part. I want it so whenever I hold the button, it UNMUTES, and when I let off, it mutes. However, Since I don't want to hold down the button for the whole song, I need to figure out a way to activate the button. I hope this makes sense. Any ideas for a momentary on for an UNMUTE, first off? If I have to, I'll automate it to be open until I'm ready to add the effect, and then it can open and close rapidly. Once it's done, I'll automate it to stay open for the duration. ARFCOM was the wrong place for this, wasn't it? ![]() Edit: FWIW, I only have experience programming with CC commands. |

IIRC you should be able to go into the controller track and manually insert mute events that are independent of the physical switch. so from song start, there would be no controller, then add a mute trigger just before the mute/unmute passage. this would "activate" your switch by giving you unmute as soon as you hit it. but it's been forever since i've messed with reason, so take this with a grain of salt. [ETA: the lazy recordist's method..."just do it as a punch in". ]
