Save the 2nd
I did a Search on "Save the 2nd" and on "savethe2nd.org", so forgive me if this is a dupe.
Bunch o' folks figured that pro-2A types work for a living. We don't have time to go traipsing across the Country to Washington DC to hold 100k rallies.
So, they set up the above forum to try and get like minded folks to rally at their State capitols on April 28, 2008. Not armed or to foment rebellion or anything, just a gathering in all 50 States to stand up for our Rights.
Here's the Miision Statement:
I'll keep it short and simple.
This country is heading down a path that does not favor gun owners' rights, and ultimately, does not favor freedom.
We wish to have a national rally to show our unwavering support for the 2nd Amendment.
National rallies held at our nation's capital do not always turn out as well as they could. It is not feasible for everyone to drive across the nation to show their support, even if it is something in which they strongly believe.
So instead, we propose the following: separate rallies at each state's capital on the same day, uniting as one nation for one cause.
Be sure to check in often. We just recently created this forum, and we would like to go ahead with a more formal website.
First things first, what we need from everyone is suggestions for a date. What would be the best day to have the rallies? Ideally, it would be BEFORE the 2008 presidential elections. You can make suggestions/discussion in this thread: http://www.savethe2nd.org/forum/index.php?topic=2.0
Once we get a date all set, we can start making and hosting fliers for gun shops, ranges, etc, and getting the word out through forums, magazines, gun rights organizations, etc etc. We'll worry about all that once we get a date set.
