Right now I have them on the door of my safes or on a shelf in the safe.

I'd love to somehow "securely" display them.

Any ideas?

I prefer to keep them in my waistband.

Pistols are best stored loaded and within arm's reach

My carry handgun is always “Loaded with Safety on”, within close reach.

The rest are in the safe unloaded on a shelf.
If I want to show them off, I will take them out.

Nothing fancy.  Just a few racks in the safe.  I've looked at several door systems but they all seem rather cheaply made.

I would love a sturdy secure door mounting system.

I use the safe racks too, but would like something more secure. Don't need any more dings, etc.

Keep both my pistols loaded at all times, one goes with me where ever I go, the other is in the dresser!

The one I take with me becomes a nightstand gun at the end of the day, my 12 gauge sits just behind the nightstand.

I have some stored in a pistol rack on a shelf in the safe.

I have others still in their original boxes.

I have some laid out on shelves in the safe.

And I have a few strategically placed around the bat cave to allow immediate access to in a SHTF scenario.

I am not into PDA ( Public Display of Arms ) so I have never pondered the secure / open display option.

That's easy to do when you happen to be the Unabomber...

Perhaps you could cut a window in the door of a cheap metal cabinet "safe" (Homak), then install a Lexan window?  Add some interior lights so the weapons would be visible?

The weapons would not be "safe" but they would be visible, would not get covered in dust and would at the very least not be easily accessible.

Where is that thread from the guy in the technical forum who made a "secure" wall mount for his AR-15? That was a good one.
